Customer support training for e-commerce teams
E-commerce support runs on volume, and volume punishes shallow answers. "The tracking says delivered" closes the ticket and loses the customer — because the real answer was one click deeper: the order shipped to a different address than the one the customer is watching. The difference between an agent who copies the order status and one who reads the whole record is the difference between a refund you didn't owe, a chargeback, and a customer who feels genuinely understood.
The tickets that decide your CSAT
- "It says delivered but I have nothing" — carrier error, address mismatch, or porch theft? Each needs a different answer, and the order record usually settles it.
- "My discount code worked but I was charged full price" — validated is not applied. The audit log shows exactly which step succeeded and which failed.
- "You charged me after I cancelled" — a subscription that restarted on a different saved card is a specific, findable fact, not a mystery.
- "You sent me the wrong item" — the fulfilment timeline shows what was actually picked, and whether a return even exists yet.
None of these are hard once an agent knows how to investigate. All of them get escalated — or worse, guessed at — by agents who were trained on product FAQs and macro lists instead of on the thinking.
Train inside the work
PRISM trains e-commerce support agents inside ShopDesk — a full retail back office with orders, payments, refunds, fulfilment timelines, shipping, returns, promotions and subscriptions. Agents take realistic tickets, dig through the system, work out what actually happened, and write the response they'd send. The PRISM scoring engine scores each investigation across 8 thinking dimensions — problem identification, investigation quality, logical rationale, observation awareness, resolution clarity, calmness, self-sufficiency, creative thinking — then coaches them screen by screen on exactly what they did. Not a model answer. Their answer, coached.
The system is the training ground — not the point
PRISM doesn't teach ShopDesk, and it doesn't need to mirror your Shopify or Magento setup. ShopDesk is where your team's training starts, because the tickets feel like Tuesday. From there, agents rotate into systems they've never seen — a fleet platform, a clinic system — because the skill being trained is the one that survives every re-platform and every new tool in your stack: find the evidence, connect it, resolve it. The scoring measures thinking, never system knowledge. That's the core of scenario-based training.
What managers get
- One dashboard: RAG status per agent, dimension-level strengths and gaps, and who actually investigates versus who script-reads.
- Evidence for coaching conversations, peak-season hiring calls, and senior-role decisions.
- The same scenarios double as pre-hire assessments — test candidates on a real ticket before peak season, not during it.
